Me: Yes. I know that. What is going on March 6th?
Husband: Oh shit. Your birthday is March 5th.

My Secret to Loan Repayment
Only pay it often enough to where you don’t get reported to credit agencies and they don’t call and threaten you.  So that would  be paying every couple of months. And I have worked with credit agency things before and most don’t consider defaulting on student loans a horrible thing.  It’s the credit cards that will get you. I know right, not good.   But seriously in...

Of Course!
Day One back on track; counting my calories, trying to eat healthy and what happens… My co-worker who is the best baker brings in orange cupcakes that look delicious. I have not eaten one because I cannot justify the calories and I want to be back to my goal weight, so here I sit getting full on water and eating a clementine. Sometimes being good is so bad.

Recommendation
I love tea.  I am a bit of a tea snob.  We usually drink loose tea at home.  But it’s not always that I can afford to buy loose tea with the quantity I drink. I love spicy tea, unusual tea’s.  I’m not much of a green tea or chamomile type of girl. Bengal Spice Herbal Tea by Celestial Seasonings is one of my favorite bagged teas. It’s a wonderful flavor with cardamon and...

Tidbits
I am counting calories. I am not saying this proudly, but because I need to. I work out and do all the right things in terms of that, but I am a girl that can eat! So here we go on the journey. I am sick but still had to show up to work today because all the supervisors (5 in total) are on vacation and so it trickles down to me. I turn 32 in a couple of weeks and don’t know how I feel...

Forever Number 1 Girl Crush
I was in college when Felicity came out.  I remember watching the first episode thinking, “Is this the girl who played in some awful lifetime movies?” And yes, yes it was. I think most of women agree that we probably came of age in college and she was everything I wanted to be.  Brave, yet afraid.  Self-conscious, yet strong.  I loved everything and Ben wasn’t so bad either....

Your Healthista: Slow Cooker Ropa Vieja (Cuban... →
yourhealthista: I have a tiny secret: I love “cheap” cuts of meat. Flank steak, skirt steak, stew meat… I just love the chewier texture! So when I found a slow cooker recipe that called for flank steak and lots of Latin flavor, I jumped on it. I also liked the relatively short ingredient list and the small… Reblogging because I will be making this later this week.  Looks so good and so...

ughhh. So my boss just emailed me from Hawaii.  She wants me to post a position to hire someone, but we aren’t hiring anyone.  It’s purely because we have to post the position.  The hire is internal. As someone who has looked for a job for a long time, I disagree with this.  Because it makes people all hopeful when there is no hope to be had here.

Monday
At work on President’s Day.  Of course right. Even though we are a social service agency that contracts with the state; we still somehow manage to remain open. Odd though how none of the supervisor’s manage to make it in on these days. (Could you hear the sarcasm).  And my boss, the director, is on her second week of her three week vacation to Hawaii with her fiance, whom she broke...

Struggling for no apparent reason. The feelings of blue wrap around me and make me unable to participate in the present. I try really hard though. I am not my mom. I will not lock myself in my room choosing not to participate in life. I don’t have to be that. I will not let my depression win. I will not let it rule and run my life.

Sleeping Weirdness
I have weird sleep habits.  I am able to sleep and able to sleep well and I love that because when I was using I couldn’t sleep.  But I do bizarre things in my sleep. Current examples of the last month… rubbing my feet against my husbands legs for long periods of time poking my husband five times really hard in the side and then screaming “Cher” and falling back asleep. ...

A man looked at the Buddha and said, “Why are you always smiling and laughing?” The Buddha said, “Because life is absurd.” This to me remains to be one of the most important lessons I have learned through Buddhism.  In the midst of our own struggles and achievements we should never take advantage of what we have and never think to highly of our situation (or too poorly)....

Things I am into/Things I am Over
Things I am into 1. Love, love, love juicing.  I am not on any juicing fast.  But the benefits of juicing are amazing.  The nutrients I get are awesome and I can’t resist the pretty colors and trying out new combinations. 2.  Coffee Ice Cubes.         All these years I have been drinking watered down iced coffee or leaving out the ice.  Who knew.  Obviously I am not very creative, but...

North Carolina Dreams
My MIL is divorcing her husband. She filed paperwork and has put her house in Campbell, California (Northern California) on the market. I am sad that her marriage is over, but she made the right decision for her. But on the up side…she is moving to Hickory, North Carolina!!!! Now I have an excuse to go to North Carolina.  I am so excited.

I haven’t been inspired to write lately. I’ve been in and out of the oral surgeons office dealing with one of the things I hate about myself the most; my teeth. I have been embarrassed. I have been told to smile. I am tired. I am working extra hours to make sure my paycheck isn’t miserable. I am nervous about the amount of money I am spending to be able to have a smile. I...
