A Special GPOYW
So yesterday was the culmination of two decades worth of dream realized.  As I stated previously, I have a dental condition call flourosis.  It sucks.  It is a result of too much flouride in the water, but also a lack of dental care, poverty, etc.  All of which were part of my life as a child to teenage parents. I had been mercilessly teased as a child, but also teased as adult, asked what...

Deja Vu
So as I perused the websites this morning, looking for Oscar glam, because you know I could not watch hours of that…I saw Emma Stone (whom I adore) in this I thought, “Has she worn something very familiar to this before?  I know I have seen this!” And then it hit me Albeit, not the same dress, but very similar. Nicole wore this in 2007. I knew I wasn’t crazy.

Weekend Wrap Up
Oh this weekend was about house things, particularly our bathroom. So was it fun, not really, but we managed to maintain a small level of sanity. While shopping the husband discovered how much he loved giant tea cups for plants. Little Lucy was playing out in the snow digging really hard in the frozen ground and she tore her nail all the way down.  We had to take her to pet emergency. Fun...

Snacks with 100 or Less Calories
Since I am embarking on a new challenge of healthy eating, I have been searching for ways to cut out the unnecessary calories.  For me, the challenge is being full or satisfied after eating a snack. So I have developed a list of snacks that I like that have 100 or less Calories.  I hope it is helpful to someone.  And maybe you will grab these tasty snacks first instead of a cupcake or fries :) ...

I have figured out that while I care a little bit about what other people think. I care more about my own expectations for myself. And the bitch of it is, I have pretty high expectations for myself.

Of Course!
Day One back on track; counting my calories, trying to eat healthy and what happens… My co-worker who is the best baker brings in orange cupcakes that look delicious. I have not eaten one because I cannot justify the calories and I want to be back to my goal weight, so here I sit getting full on water and eating a clementine. Sometimes being good is so bad.

Recommendation
I love tea.  I am a bit of a tea snob.  We usually drink loose tea at home.  But it’s not always that I can afford to buy loose tea with the quantity I drink. I love spicy tea, unusual tea’s.  I’m not much of a green tea or chamomile type of girl. Bengal Spice Herbal Tea by Celestial Seasonings is one of my favorite bagged teas. It’s a wonderful flavor with cardamon and...

Tidbits
I am counting calories. I am not saying this proudly, but because I need to. I work out and do all the right things in terms of that, but I am a girl that can eat! So here we go on the journey. I am sick but still had to show up to work today because all the supervisors (5 in total) are on vacation and so it trickles down to me. I turn 32 in a couple of weeks and don’t know how I feel...

Forever Number 1 Girl Crush
I was in college when Felicity came out.  I remember watching the first episode thinking, “Is this the girl who played in some awful lifetime movies?” And yes, yes it was. I think most of women agree that we probably came of age in college and she was everything I wanted to be.  Brave, yet afraid.  Self-conscious, yet strong.  I loved everything and Ben wasn’t so bad either....

yourhealthista: I have a tiny secret: I love “cheap” cuts of meat. Flank steak, skirt steak, stew meat… I just love the chewier texture! So when I found a slow cooker recipe that called for flank steak and lots of Latin flavor, I jumped on it. I also liked the relatively short ingredient list and the small… Reblogging because I will be making this later this week.  Looks so good and so...

Struggling for no apparent reason. The feelings of blue wrap around me and make me unable to participate in the present. I try really hard though. I am not my mom. I will not lock myself in my room choosing not to participate in life. I don’t have to be that. I will not let my depression win. I will not let it rule and run my life.

Sleeping Weirdness
I have weird sleep habits.  I am able to sleep and able to sleep well and I love that because when I was using I couldn’t sleep.  But I do bizarre things in my sleep. Current examples of the last month… rubbing my feet against my husbands legs for long periods of time poking my husband five times really hard in the side and then screaming “Cher” and falling back asleep. ...

A man looked at the Buddha and said, “Why are you always smiling and laughing?” The Buddha said, “Because life is absurd.” This to me remains to be one of the most important lessons I have learned through Buddhism.  In the midst of our own struggles and achievements we should never take advantage of what we have and never think to highly of our situation (or too poorly)....
